I was about to give up trying to find a wedding band that was not only reliable and experienced, but also very versatile when I heard about the Michael Benson Band. I saw them listed on the Seattle Bridal Magazine’s “Best of” list and looked them up. Our bride wanted younger more current hits, and our groom wanted classics and jazz – a hard mix to find.
Michael was amazing, he was versatile enough to play both genres fantastically, and as this was a Jewish wedding, he was able to perform the traditional Jewish songs that we had requested also. He required little direction from us and was completely prepared to take the night away. He acted as MC, played light music during dinner, and got everyone up dancing afterward…I’ve never seen so many people get dancing so quickly.
Michael was extremely easy to work with and I’d recommend him to anyone. If you have any doubts, check out his website and his song samples, they were night and day compared to the quality of everyone I researched. – Kyle
To new heights
I simply can’t imagine a better band than the MBBand to have had performed at our wedding reception. AMAZING! We knew they would be great because of reviews we read, sound samples we heard, and interactions with the band. But Michael and the Band took that expectation to completely new heights. The dance floor was packed all night, and our friends and family can’t stop talking about how great they were. These guys truly met and exceeded our every expectation! 5 out 5, A+, two VERY enthusiastic thumbs up for the MMB!
P.S. They took the time to learn an old, obscure early 2000s punk song for our first dance, and covered it PERFECTLY… Michael even matched pitch with some very unique sounding singers, and he truly performs the songs you want to hear, the way you WANT to hear them! – Elizabeth and David

Do you think you could do some sort of a hora/jig to start off our
celebration? One of our questions when we first met with Michael
Benson. No problem the reply. Not only was it not a problem, it
was one of the most memorable, most talked-about aspects of our
wedding. The Michael Benson Band pulled this ethnic dance melee
hoedown off with skill, energy and know-how. The rest of the music of
the night ran the gamut, (from the ceremony through cocktail hour to
the reception) with many other masterful highlights showcasing the
band’s breadth and talent. Many of our guests from New York, London
and other parts of the globe raved about the band, and were more than
impressed. They wished they could have that kind of wedding-band
experience at every reception they went to, and so do we. The Michael

Deciding to make the investment and book the Michael Benson Band was by far the best money we spent. Our big day would not have been complete without them. They are hands down, the best wedding band I have seen, and absolutely great to work with. So versatile in all genres, they know how to keep the crowd dancing! Blown Away

We were lucky enough to hear the Michael Benson Band play a wedding reception at the Seattle Golf Club and were completely blown away! The amount of energy they brought to the venue was impressive, but so was the masterful pacing and sheer variety of music they performed at such a high level. Usually a shy dancer, I was the one leading my partner to the dance floor. The band completely made the night, and we left with their music stuck in our heads for the next couple of weeks. – Chris & Valerie

Singing in Mandarin

We received numerous recommendations about the Michael Benson Band. Hiring them was one of our best decisions. Deborah’s family is Taiwanese and during one of our first meetings, Michael mentioned he could sing a Chinese folk song for them. During the reception, while thanking the family, we heard the first beats of the song. Everyone loved it and couldn’t believe Michael was singing in Mandarin! It was a wonderful surprise for them and one of the best highlights of the night that everyone is still talking about. The band also played a custom song specifically for Justin (the Indiana Jones theme) for our grand entrance. Throughout the night we heard many complements from our guests about how amazing this band was. Don’t hesitate. Hire them. We promise you won’t regret it!
