Words from a wedding planner

Posted on: October 23rd, 2019 by Mbenson

I have been a Wedding Planner/Coordinator in the Seattle area for over thirty years now and have planned more weddings than I can count, some of them low key and others very high profile. From a Planner’s perspective there are two vendor types, the back-end, which includes the catering, linens, dishes, bar and other rentals and the front-end, which is typically the band, florist and other entertainment. While all are equally important it is the band that drives the energy of the reception and the Michael Benson Band is by far the top band in Seattle.

Michael and his band understand the flow of a wedding, know what music to play and when to play it and he keeps the dance floor packed. The variety of his music is unsurpassed and he will keep the over 50 crowd as equally entertained as the 20 something people at your wedding.

Michael and his band are super entertaining, super fun and he is a pleasure to work with but by no means should you take just my word for it. Please look at his other reviews from his past brides and grooms and you’ll see how happy they were.

I have been working with Michael for almost as long as I have been a planner and he is my first choice when any of my clients are looking for a high energy band. I can highly recommend him and he would be who I would use if I was planning my own wedding.

A favorite of most people who know them

Posted on: April 16th, 2019 by Mbenson

Michael will provide you with all you’re looking for! You’ll be thrilled with him and his band. He played at all 3 of our sons’ weddings and has been a huge hit. The Columbia Tower Club had their annual “Board of Governors Ball” a March 16th and we’ve had very positive feedback from all ages. I cannot say enough great things about the band. Very prompt, quick set up & tear down, incredible for cocktail, dinner hour and then they pump it up for dancing.  They are incredibly versatile in their music and know the latest and greatest hits for the younger generation. You’ll hear horns, sax, and great singing. They are a favorite of most people I know that know of them.

The word from the kitchen

Posted on: March 2nd, 2019 by Mbenson

The kitchen staff at Pacific Tower Seattle reported dancing in the kitchens on our Feb. 23, 2019 performance. At tear-down time they came out to say “You guys are THE most incredible live band we’ve ever heard here”.  They didn’t throw the party, but they got all the fun just working for it!

Will you be our MC they ask? But of course! This is a natural part of my work. I deliver any/all announcements clearly and graciously throughout the night as needed, to keep the flow going at our events. It amazes me how many people wonder if they’ll need to hire someone else to make the necessary announcements for them – like a dj?  For that, seriously?  Mais oui! Cest si bon! We have you covered!

A Magician

Posted on: March 29th, 2011 by Mbenson

Michael Benson and his band is by far the most awesome, fun, enthusiastic, best sounding band I have ever experienced in my life.  His passion and intensity was contagious as everyone danced all night long. You just cannot sit still when they start playing! He knows what songs to play when…he can work a party like he is a magician.
