Standing out in Nashville

Living in Nashville, TN, it is easy to become jaded by great music.
There is no shortage of talented aspiring musicians and cover bands
that makes it tough for even the most talented to stand out. That
said, the MBBand would have no problem standing out
in Nashville. Playing great music is only half the equation to
entertaining. The other half is the ability to energize and engage
the audience. At the Seattle wedding I attended, they kept
the momentum up all night while playing an impressively
diverse set of songs ranging from typical classics to the newest
pop hits. They are a notch above Nashville cover bands.

I was about to give up trying to find a wedding band that was not only reliable and experienced, but also very versatile when I heard about the Michael Benson Band. I saw them listed on the Seattle Bridal Magazine’s “Best of” list and looked them up. Our bride wanted younger more current hits, and our groom wanted classics and jazz – a hard mix to find.
Michael was amazing, he was versatile enough to play both genres fantastically, and as this was a Jewish wedding, he was able to perform the traditional Jewish songs that we had requested also. He required little direction from us and was completely prepared to take the night away. He acted as MC, played light music during dinner, and got everyone up dancing afterward…I’ve never seen so many people get dancing so quickly.
Michael was extremely easy to work with and I’d recommend him to anyone. If you have any doubts, check out his website and his song samples, they were night and day compared to the quality of everyone I researched. – Kyle

The Band was recognized this week as Seattle’s “Best Live Entertainment”, for the 11th straight year, as voted by Seattle Bride Magazine readers and vendors. A great honor!
Sound tech impressed
Received an unusual compliment from a Tacoma Golf Club wedding guest on 6/26/11: “Your band was phenomenal. I work for the Walt Disney Co. mixing sound for live bands 7 days a week. Your talent, musicianship, and energy was the best I’ve ever heard!”

The Band was recognized this week (8th consecutive year!) for Seattle’s “Best Live Entertainment”, as voted by Seattle Bride Magazine readers and vendors. Winning this award together with my world-class musicians has been a real honor since 2004. Here’s to pushing the envelope again in 2012!

On October 9th, 2010, we had the pleasure of performing for Jen & Chris’ wedding at the Willows Lodge. As an event coordinator, Jen has the eye for detail and the experience to create a beautiful gathering. We were pleased to meet and exceed her expectations.

My First Choice
I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Michael Benson Band for 15+ years now and I can honestly say they are FABULOUS! True professionals in every way. They always show up early and are totally prepared with any special requests. They can read the crowd like nobody’s business and always keep the dance floor packed. One of the best memories I have about the band is when Michael sang at a church ceremony and then his band played later at the reception. The band was in the middle of a hip hop song by Usher (which sounded exactly like the real thing) and a groomsman came up to me and said “Isn’t that the same dude that was just singing “Ave Maria” in the church a few hours ago? These guys are awesome!” This is a true testament to their versatility. They are hands down, my first choice of a band when a client is looking for a live group. I highly recommend them.
