The 6-Piece that sounds like 10

 

The Michael Benson Band is a 6-piece band that sounds like 10 and more. But how?  

Alexey Nikolaev @alexeynjazz plays EWI (electronic wind instrument) using the horn section program. So every note played in his like sounds like a 5-piece horn section. And add this to his phenomenal tenor sax and you get a combined horn sound that kicks serious butt. 

Michael @michaelbensonband plays two keyboards – each with a brass section setup and multi-layer synth setups which effectively adds complete horn section parts on top of the band. His Kurzweil PC4 keyboard packs orchestral string sections, hammond organs, clavinets, percussion and dozens of synth sounds all adding up to a wall of sound that would take more than 10 people to create at once.  And there’s more:  Michael doubles on rhythm electric and acoustic guitar, effectively adding a 2nd guitarist to the 6-piece band.
